UK price comparison online advertising

Having recently researched into submitting to price comparison websites I have found that most of the major sites offer pay per click schemes where you will have to bid for your placement in a product search, paying for each referred user that clicks on your product link. The main UK price comparison websites offering PPC schemes are Kelkoo, Ciao and shopping.com. Kelkoo can offer a wide visibility as it is a very popular price comparison website which also provides results for MSN, Ask Jeeves, Blueyonder and Eurosport (amongst others) but selecting the best website to use really depends on the product you are selling. There are many price comparison websites which specialise in many different areas so it is a matter of finding where you can find users that will be interested in purchasing your product where you can pay an advertising cost which enables you to make a profit on each sale.

You may also like to consider general pay per click programs such as Google Adwords, Yahoo! Search Marketing (formerly Overture) and Miva to help attract more users to your product. The key to making this profitable is to ensure you are bidding for the best value keywords which can produce sales for your website and I am now offering PPC campaign management to help with this.

In addition to PPC you can add your website for free to Froogle and you can upload multiple products in XML format using Google Base. There are also many shopping directories which you can submit your website to, examples of these in the UK are British Shopping and UK shop search.

Another option which may be worth considering would be to list your products for sale on the Internet through websites like Amazon Marketplace or eBay Shops where you would pay a percentage of sale or listing fee for each product.

  1. Price Buddy says:

It is true that many price comparison websites operate a pay per click system where you almost ‘bid’ for your position in the search results. Price Spin price comparison website decided not adopt this approach as Price Spin believe that everyone should have an equal opportunity to be in the same price comparison search results position.
