This week I will working on a project to try and increase Google AdSense earnings without increasing the amount of traffic for www.placesun.co.uk. Instead of trying to target higher paying keywords, as this already seems to be working well, I will test the ad formats and postionings to see which works best in order to achieve the highest click through rate (CTR) and make the most amount of money.

To monitor this I have set up channels for individual pages such as property for sale in Greece and over the next couple of days I should be able to get a good idea of the average CTR from this page before testing different ad formats and postionings.

The Google AdSense tips webpage suggests to use the ad’s high within the primary content of the page. The ad’s are currently located in the footer area so it will be interesting to see if changing this can help to raise the CTR. I hope to be able to get some clear results to report back with in around a week’s time.
