Over the last week I have been experimenting with Google AdSense to find the best ad formats and positionings to make money.

The results showed varied click through rates with the top performing selection using a 468 banner to blend in with the website text and displayed above the fold. This produced the best results when used in combination with a 728 banner situated in the footer section of the webpage as shown on property for sale in Turkey. This format worked well as it blended in well with the website without taking too much focus away from the purpose of the page which is displaying properties for sale.

I am delighted with the improvement made in the CTR with the lowest percentage starting at 9% which is respectable but this was improved over the week to reach a consistent CTR average of around 20%. The highest daily CTR achieved was 67% but this is unusally high and was attained with a low impression and click count. The next stage is to implement the changes throughout the website, from the tracked channels the daily earnings have doubled from the starting figures with the same amount of traffic so similar results with the overall total would be excellent.
