I have recently been trying to add more quality content to my site by providing regular SEO blog updates. This is important to both users and the search engines as it keeps my website up-to-date and also helps to increase the frequency of indexing as fresh content is being added regularly.

Another advantage of keeping the blog up-to-date is that it creates content that will hopefully rank well in the search engines. Recent examples of posts ranking highly in Google are:

My SEO blog tips for ranking highly would be to use the post title as the term you are targeting and to include these keywords in your text. Blogs are normally very good in terms of link building as they will automatically build archive links to your post using the post title as it’s anchor text. Edit: Since moving domain name to blog.seoptimise.com some of these rankings have dropped but I will hope they will return as the website ages.
