SEOptimise 2008 Year in Review

It’s that time of year again for another recap on the stats and analytics for the SEOptimise blog during the last 12 months, so here’s how we progressed based upon the benchmarks set in 2006 and 2007.

SEOptimise Stats

To a certain extent this year isn’t entirely accurate as we have redirected blog.seoptimise.com to www.seoptimise.com/blog which means that only measuring links/traffic to the new URL’s doesn’t paint a clear picture. Also Alexa seems to have become even less accurate (in my opinion) so this hasn’t done us any favours either, despite a significant increase in overall traffic figures.

This shows that 2008 has been a very good year for the blog, largely helped with frequently popular posts from Tad. There’s a couple of new metrics too, we’re keen on improving our AdAge ranking, Compete is far more accurate than Alexa and Twitter followers are fast becoming the new RSS count so this has to be included!

More importantly, during 2008 SEOptimise have clearly grown as a company. We’ve strengthened our search team with the highly-skilled additions of Richard Fergie and Max Capener (both from Oxford University), recently moved to a larger office on the Oxford Science Park, experienced working with well-known brands and are delighted to have won (and pitched for) some very interesting projects. So following this we anticipate an exciting 2009 ahead for both us and our clients, hopefully with some improved blog stats again this time next year! ;)
