Hopefully rising CPCs will lead to businesses tightening their keywords so more relevant ads are delivered to searchers. Will be fun finding out how many of these you're right about!

@jess I find the theory and strategy of SEO interesting. The actual writing about keywords I find pretty boring. I'm not trying to start SEO vs. PPC all over again, just saying that I prefer one when you prefer the other.

@Paul Excellent point about the self-regulating market and shrinking margins. "Complete marketing environment" is a good way to describe the de-siloing of marketing activities

Some good points, particularly 1 & 3.

CPC's will increase, regardless of PPC being a self regulating market (only pay what a click is worth) we will all have to work on slimmer margins.

Conversion attribution should be on everyone's agenda, and will be the only way to grow businesses that are becoming more reliant on online as a complete marketing environment.

Paid search is great for financially manageable ad campaigns and in my opinion more effective then banner ads, but me personally, i find organic SEO to be much more rewarding and fun, i mean seriously, who actually likes bidding on keywords, I would rather be writing about them!
